Through the blog we learned bbrd Update Facebook for BlackBerry has reached the Beta Zone, but only available for some specific testers who were invited to test the application.
Version 1.8.0 is a maintenance release and is focused primarily on improving the performance of the existing version, including improvements in speed to upload photos, friends list and news.
The improvements announced are the following:
Notifications: Now you can receive notifications from the Facebook ® without having to attach an email to your device. (I think this was available in the current version.)
Notifications via email: Now you stop receiving email notification of Facebook ® that is sent to the email account configured in your Facebook account.
Performance Friends list: The list now loads faster.
Performance Image Upload: These are loaded and climb much faster and the previews are now bigger.
